The latestFinal Fantasy 16 trailer gave fans a more in-depth look at Eikons and Dominants, revealing more Eikons like Ramuh, Odin, and Bahamut, as well as some Dominants like Garuda’s Benedikta Harman. The relationship between a Dominant and an Eikon is likely to be a major point of the story, especially as it seems Clive is the Dominant of Ifrit and may be responsible for Joshua’s death, if indirectly.
The Final Fantasy 16 Dominance Trailer also alluded to some alliance of Dominants, said by a mysterious voice in the background, but it’s uncertain to what extent this goes. Furthermore, the end of the trailer calls Clive a Child of Fate, which likely deals with his ability to manifest several Eikons and their abilities in FF16’s combat.

The most mysterious Eikon, however, isn’t Ifrit, but Bahamut. As many know, Bahamut is one of the most powerful summons in Final Fantasy history and is definitely one of its most consistent. The trailer shows him seemingly fighting Odin, making him seem like a traditional Eikon in the game, but there are two paths Bahamut could theoretically take in Final Fantasy 16.
The simplest answer is that a Dominant of Bahamut exists in the game and is likely incredibly powerful. It could be the character seen in the trailer, with a holy knight sort of aesthetic, who seemingly calls Clive an incredible threat to the world. This would likely mean that Bahamut/this character are some defender of the crystals, as it seems many would see them destroyed—beyond the general world at war vibe, seen with the giant Eikon battles.
The second is perhaps more interesting, but it would make Bahamut’s presence in the trailer harder to explain. Each Final Fantasy 16
