Final Fantasy 14 is gearing up for the release of its next major story patch, titled Buried Memory. In addition to new story content and challenges, Final Fantasy 14 is adding a new series of Relic Weapon quests to Endwalker–and this time, players will need to complete the Hildibrand questline to get the powerful weapons.
Final Fantasy 14 kicked off July with a Live Letter from the Producer focused almost entirely on Patch 6.2, slated to launch in late August. The Live Letter showed off tons of new content coming to the game, including the inclusion of the Endwalker Relic Weapon series.

The Endwalker Relic Weapon quests will be linked to the new Hildibrand quests added in Final Fantasy 14 Patch 6.15. This questline is a continuation of the hijinks of Hildibrand Manderville, Gentleman Inspector. It seems the Relic Weapon questline will involve Gerolt–the drunken master blacksmith involved in creating previous Relic Weapons–and Godbert–master goldsmith and father of Hildibrand. In order to start the quest, players will need to complete the new Hildibrand quests coming in Patch 6.2.
The Hildibrand questlines in Final Fantasy 14 are a light-hearted romp through the silliest parts of Eorzea. The absurd Gentleman Inspector has been stumbling his way through unreal situations since the original Final Fantasy 14, before its re-release as A Realm Reborn. The comedic questline introduces iconic Final Fantasy characters like Gilgamesh and Yojimbo, and spans a whopping 40 quests and three trials, not including any added in Buried Memory.
