I’m only a casual Final Fantasy 14 player, but even if I had more hours in the day to dedicate to my Warrior of Light, I still can’t imagine ever having enough time to complete all the content this game has to offer. I don’t just mean because FF14 receives regular patches and expansions, but all the grinding aspects too. Farming atmas nearly broke me, I don’t think I can handle anything else.
We all love to grumble about the grind, but not everyone shares that sentiment. There are plenty of players who love grinding content and many are willing to help others get their grind on too, such as Twitch Partner Zuan. She originally streamed World of Warcraft and Overwatch, but jumped into FF14 towards the end of the Heavensward arc and has since become a notable streamer in the community.

“Grinding in MMOs has always been a passion of mine,” Zuan tells me. “In World of Warcraft, I was a big mount/transmog farmer and wanted to collect all of the things. So my content does highly revolve around how to get this mount, this chest piece, this minion, and that achievement.
“A lot of my content is focused around doing content that is intended to last a whole expansion and completing it over consecutive streams. I do prefer to do grinds that can involve other players so they can also chip away at their own progress while I complete mine. If there isn’t a grind to be done, then I frequently ask my community what they need done and make that my mission.”
