Have you filed the e-nomination for your EPF? If not, then you must do it as soon as possible. The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) had introduced the e-nomination process for Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) account holders to ensure social security of their families and nominees. The process to file e-nomination is pretty simple and easy. You can do it online via Universal Account Number (UAN) on EPFO's official website at epfindia.gov.in. EPFO users just need a self-declaration. Though EPFO has not fixed any deadline for filing e-nomination, we would recommend you to do it at the earliest. Why? Because trouble never announces its arrival.
E-nomination, according to the EPFO, is mandatory for online payment of PF, pension, and the Employees' Deposit-Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI) up to Rs. 7 lakh to qualified family members. Moreover, nominees will have paperless and faster online claim settlements, when needed. Do note that you can make amendments in nominations any time, but it is usually required after marriage.
To file the e-nomination for EPF, users will be first required to visit the official website of EPFO at epfindia.gov.in
On the homepage, they will need to click on the 'services' tab and select 'for employees' option in the dropdown menu
Next, tap on 'Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP)' and log in using EPF UAN credentials and password.
Once done, click on ‘e-nomination’ under the ‘manage’ tab and then provide details and click on 'save' option.
Click on 'yes' to update the family declaration and then head to ‘Nomination Details’ to declare the total amount of shares. Save the EPF/EDLI nomination' option.
Next, click on 'E-sign', an OTP will be generated, submit the OTP received on Aadhaar-linked
