The first patch for FIFA 23 is out now, making changes to the game’s penalty system and dribbling animations.
While it’s not the significant gameplay patch that usually comes to FIFA in the first month or so of the game being released, it does make some tweaks to the game mechanics.
Most notably, penalties – which have been regarded in the community as very easy to score – will now require more skill.

However, as the first Weekend League (FIFA’s main competitive mode) is happening this weekend, it’s typical for EA to wait to see how the game fares in a competitive setting before making sweeping changes in a larger title update.
