A new PC mod for Final Fantasy VII Remake replaces protagonist Cloud Strife with a playable version of Zack Fair. As fans are well aware, Zack Fair plays a minor role in FF7, having died ahead of the main game's events while trying to save Cloud. This doesn't make Zack any less of an important figure in the grand scheme of things, however, especially when considering how closely his story ties into the overarching narrative and its key players.
Interestingly, Zack Fair rarely receives mention in Final Fantasy 7, with all of his on-screen appearances taking place in flashbacks towards the end of the story campaign. This particular entry only marks the beginning of his adventures in the world of Final Fantasy, though. A fan-favorite character, Zack's most significant role in the series occurs in FF7 prequelCrisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, where he stars as the main protagonist. While some fans hold out hope that he'll one day return to the center of attention, a PC modder decided to take matters into their own hands.
