What's worse than Toad? You might answer, "Nothing!" Sure, that's fair. But how about a game with nothing but Toad's face as the textures? Thanks to modders, that's exactly what's happened to Ocarina of Time's PC fan port. And yes, it is so much worse than Toad.
The Zelda Reverse Engineering team managed to get the classic N64 RPG to work on PC last year and, since then, plenty of mods have been sprouting up, taking advantage of the new platform (thanks, NintendoLife). Most are conventional like texture upgrades, improve menus, and other quality of life updates, but then you have Toad's face. Everywhere. Even the UX/UI.

Toad is a monstrosity without being stretched across mountains, plastered onto castles, or stretched across Link's clothes. Link is wearing Toad. He's like Leatherface! But if you want to enjoy a cursed Ocarina playthrough, then you'll be overjoyed by this abomination. Otherwise, there are some fun mods too. Ones that won't give you nightmares. You can bring Star Fox to Kakariko or even just try out gyro controls in the shooting gallery.
Alternatively, you can now play Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo Switch. Away from the cesspool of Toad mods. You're safe on the Switch. I promise. It had a rocky launch with many criticizing the port's visuals, but Nintendo has been steadily updating its N64 library to improve these hiccups, even adding back fog.
But speaking of cursed, Tingle's creator wants to bring him back, even if he is "creepy." It wouldn't be a Nintendo game without something nightmarish whether it's the incessant Navi, the talking fire extinguisher that is F.L.U.D.D., or Kirby themselves. Devouring whole worlds.
