The second annual Video Game Accessibility Awards are set for this year and Far Cry 6, Halo Infinite, and It Takes Two are among the list of games up for awards. Started in 2020 by Alanah Pearce, of Santa Monica Studios, and Steven Spohn, of AbleGamers, the Video Game Accessibility Awards showcase accessibility in video games. The pair highlights and awards video games that allow players to modify the controls of the game to fit their particular needs.
The AbleGamers Foundation is a nonprofit organization that began in 2004. The group's mission is to work with video game developers to make games accessible for everyone and work to create a community within the gaming industry so that everyone can game. Steven Spohn is the COO of the organization and has worked tirelessly to bring awareness to the lack of accessibility present within video games. The foundation has gotten a lot of traction in recent years and AbleGamers even received a shoutout from Brie Larson on Twitter last year.

IGN announced the nominees for this years' Video Game Accessibility Awards. The nominees included Far Cry 6, Halo Infinite, and It Takes Two. Far Cry 6 was nominated for Improved Precision, which allows players to increase or decrease things like movement sensitivity, and AI Assistance which helps players to progress through the game with assistance from in-game AI. Halo Infinite was nominated for Clear Text, which displays text in the game and its interfaces, and Training Grounds, which gives players a place to increase their skill level on their own time, instead of the usual timed training or training area provided.
