A fan recently showed what The Elder Scrolls 6 might look like in Unreal Engine 5. The actual game isn’t coming out any time soon and will probably use a version of the updated Creation Engine that Bethesda is using in Starfield. However, it’s an exciting look at one interpretation of The Elder Scroll’s next installment.
Bethesda announced Elder Scrolls 6 during E3 2018. The last four years have seen plenty of anticipation and speculation. However, the game is still several years away.
Huge Skyrim Mod Adds Daedric Expansion
A small YouTuber called Ascendent Dawn recently uploaded a video showing their interpretation of an Elder Scrolls 6 made in Unreal Engine 5. Many fans suspect The Elder Scrolls 6 will take place in Hammerfell, and this is the interpretation that Ascendent Dawn went with. The video is less than two minutes long and features three locations accompanied by music from Oblivion and Skyrim.
The video is in first person and begins with the player exiting a small hut and walking down a sandy gorge lined with what looks like corn stalks. A small quest tracker and compass appear along the top of the screen, reminiscent of Skyrim’s minimalist UI.
Speaking of Skyrim, it’s at this point that the player stops to look at a dragon flying by far off in the distance. There’s never been any indication of dragons appearing in the Elder Scrolls 6, and it’s not clear if players would even be able to kill them unless the new protagonist is also Dragonborn. Still, it’s not a crazy assumption on the part of Ascendent Dawn and makes for an excellent little set-piece. The dragon flies off, and the player moves on, finally arriving at a sheltered cove with a ruined structure rising out of the water.
