Bethesda has released details about the Fallout 76 update that has just launched, The Pitt, which has a huge file size on nearly all platforms. The update will add new events, daily quests, Pitt Expeditions, and more. The Expeditions, in addition, will allow players to leave the standard territory of Appalachia for the first time in Fallout 76's history. But none of this new content comes without a cost, and the size of the add-on is itself larger than most AAA games.
The Fallout 76 Pitt update focuses on new stories, missions, and nostalgic locations from Fallout 3. And, though Fallout 76's multiplayer gameplay has been an issue in the past, the content is another attempt by Bethesda to refresh the title and get players interested in its most recent Fallout installment. Many fans knew about the impending update, but nobody knew just how massive the file size was going to be.

Everything in Fallout 76's The Pitt expansion is meant to engage players. And, while it will hopefully be successful, the size of the expansion is nothing to scoff at. The update will be 23.5 GB on Steam, 73.5 on the Microsoft Store, 77.1 on PlayStation, and 80.8 on Xbox. And that's in addition to all the base content that fans have already downloaded. There's no denying that Bethesda has seemingly gone overboard with this expansion and that, while they have introduced a ton of new activities, this could be too big an ask for casual Fallout 76 players.
