Today, EA and Codemasters have officially unveiled the details for F1 23. This year’s Formula One game will launch on June 16 and will be available on PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC via the EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam. With Max Verstappen dawning the cover of the F1 23 Champions Edition game, the current face of the sport will highlight the 2023 grid in this game which will include the highly anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix and Losaile International Circuit, Qatar.
The narrative mode Braking Point will return in F1 23 as it was introduced previously. This stars Aiden Jackson, the young upstart, and Devon Butler as they are both teammates on Konnersport Racing Team. Looking to make their mark in the sport, the story will add new characters, rivalries and racing challenges. The development team has also upgraded the handling model that includes feedback from actual drivers. This will allow for more predictable car behavior and better traction when braking, accelerating and cornering. Also being included is a greater balance of aerodynamics and tyre grip, which will all add to the realism in the game.
Codemasters is also introducing Precision Drive controller technology to provide pad players a better experience on the track. This, along with improved throttle control should reignite the racing feel in the game. Players will also have the option to run 35% race distance and the ability to enable red flags during races. Three legacy circuits are being included with Paul Ricard (France), Shanghai (China), and Portimao (Portugal), which will all be available at launch.
Finally, Codemasters is introducing F1 World, which is a new hub to help deliver content that is inspired by the real-world Calendar.
