Writer Rob Schrab offer a Rick and Morty season 8 update revealing that the writer's room for the future season has officially begun. Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon's animated sci-fi comedy revolves around the titular mad scientist and his timid grandson as they venture through the multiverse with the use of the former's portal gun and his flying car. Rick and Morty's adventures frequently have an effect on their relationship with one another as well as with their family, Morty's parents Jerry and Beth and his older sister Summer.
Roiland leads the cast of Rick and Morty as both titular characters alongside Chris Parnell as Jerry, Spencer Grammer as Summer and Sarah Chalke as Beth. Based on Roiland's Back to the Future parody short, the series has received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for its in-depth character development, unique sense of humor and creative world-building. The show's success has led to Roiland and Harmon partnering with Adult Swim for an unspecified number of future Rick and Morty seasons but now a semblance of a future plan is being given by one of the creatives behind it.
