The video game has officially been delayed, with the game now officially moving from its vague February release date. will now launch on May 13, 2022 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The news came from the official Twitter account. The reason for the delay wasn’t specifically stated other than the developer noting that this move gives the team the best chance to make the game the best it can be, as is the case with many delays.

“When we set out to create a brand new game worthy of the franchise, we knew it had to be groovy as hell,” read the next tweet in the thread announcing the delay. “In order to deliver the best possible experience, is now coming on May 13, 2022. This delay gives our team the time they need to get things just right, so your boomstick will be polished, fully loaded, and ready to blast Deadites on that Friday the 13th of May. We thank you for your patience and understanding.”
Alongside the news of the delay, the tweet also revealed that pre-order info for the game, as well as a brand-new trailer, would be released in February. However, the tweet was not more specific.
