The video-game-inspired horrorChoose or Die has finally hit Netflix and here's what's known about Choose or Die 2. Previously titled CURS>R, Choose or Die is director Toby Meakins' feature debut. Choose or Die boasts a cast of veterans and newcomers alike, delivering a unique retro-horror that is sure to make viewers think twice before booting up a new game. With the way the horror movie ended, it leaves the door open for a Choose or Die sequel.
Nothing in Kayla's (Iola Evans) life was particularly extraordinary — or even easy. Between her struggles to find a job as a junior programmer, Kayla has to care for her mother (Angela Griffin), who is grappling with substance abuse after the death of Kayla's brother, as their apartment crumbles around them. When Kayla finds a video game from the 1980s, CURS>R, in the basement of her aspiring game developer friend, Isaac (Sex Education's Asa Butterfield), that boasts an unclaimed cash prize of $125,000 for completing the game, Kayla can't resist. In booting up the game, however, Kayla unleashes an ancient curse that had been locked inside the game's code: choose between the horrifying realities the game creates, or die.

Choose or Die has been met with mixed critical reception. While Choose or Die may not boast an overly complicated plot, its strong cast of actors and startling — but simple — visuals deliver a unique techno-horror. Choose or Die's formulaic feel has placed it in a category similar to the cult classic franchise, Saw, containing exactly what's on the label while remaining replicable enough for sequels.
