Developer and publisher Total Mayhem Games has unleashed a release trailer for We Were Here Forever, an asymmetric cooperative puzzle game where skills and friendships will be put to the test. We Were Here Forever marks the fourth entry in the first-person co-op puzzle series from Total Mayhem Games, which takes place in Castle Rock. The first installment, simply titled We Were Here, launched on PC in early 2017, with console versions hitting the market in subsequent years. We Were Here Too launched in 2018, followed by the release of We Were Here Together in 2019.
This particular franchise emulates an Escape Room-type of experience à la Inscryption — minus the card game elements. Ubisoft has also dabbled in this style of game with Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time, a VR Escape Game attraction that summoned two to four players to stop a malevolent Magi in the Fortress of Time. Of course, titles like The Room capture this experience as well. And some would argue the likes of the Resident Evil and Portal series similarly offer Escape Room-esque levels of tension.

Today, May 5, Total Mayhem Games, uploaded the first look at in-game footage for We Were Here Forever in a launch trailer. The all-new title will hit PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 10. While the co-op puzzle title will launch on PlayStation and Xbox hardware like its predecessors, Total Mayhem Games has yet to share a specific due date for the console versions.
