The Epic Games Store has come a long way since it was first released in 2018. Development has been slow, as Epic Games rolls out features at a pace few are content with, but the Epic Games Store of today is much more robust compared to the original release. One of the key features that Epic Games has added is an Achievement system, something game players highly value. And now, more than half a year later, Epic Games is expanding the EGS Achievement system with even more functionality.
Initially released in late 2021, the Achievement system for the Epic Games Store was very bare bones. It allowed game developers to implement achievements for their games and for players to earn those achievements, permanently unlocking them so they might be perused later in a user's profile. There were even associated trophies and XP values associated with each achievement. The system didn't have ways to filter achievements, however, nor did it have a way to check the rarity of various achievements.

That functionality has now been added to the Epic Games Store. EGS users are now able to see just how rare achievements are. Each achievement will have a small label beneath it showing the percentage of players that have unlocked it. Within their account information, Epic Games Store users can also sort their unlocked achievements so that they can see what their rarest and most common achievements are.
