After their phenomenal successes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo are working on something totally new. Collectively known as the Russo brothers, the creative duo has helmed four Marvel blockbusters since 2014: Captain America: The Winter Soldier,Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War,and Endgame. The widespread fame and recognition of these MCU films catapulted the brothers into mega-director status, becoming two of the most commercially successful filmmakers in Hollywood.
Post-MCU, the Russo brothers became involved in several action films, including 2020's Extraction, which starred Thor actor Chris Hemsworth. A sequel has already been filmed. More recently, the directors reunited with another Avengers star, Chris Evans, for The Gray Man. The action thriller is based on the eponymous spy novel and is set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, July 22. The film also stars Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, and Regé-Jean Page.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the Russo brothers teased what could be coming next for them as filmmakers. According to the two, they would love to make experimental movies in the future, such as horror films and even musicals. In fact, Joe revealed that he has spoken with several artists already, including The Weeknd following his impressive Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in 2021.
