Warning! SPOILERS for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Elizabeth Olsen wants Scarlet Witch to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's X-Men reboot. Marvel's mutant comic characters have a history on the big screen long before the MCU started in 2008, but Marvel Studios hasn't been able to use any of them until recently. 20th Century Fox-owned the X-Men's movie rights and made its own decades-long film franchise starting in 2000 and ending in 2020. Marvel Studios has plans to use Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool in Deadpool 3 and revitalize X-Men: The Animated Series. However, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness brought mutants closer to the MCU than ever before, thanks to Patrick Stewart's return as Professor X. The lack of mutants in the shared universe could be retconned whenever Marvel fully integrates the X-Men, especially since two mutants in the comics have already appeared — Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch, and Pietro Maximoff, a.k.a. Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).
