The boss of Elden Ring’s Lyndell, Royal Capital legacy dungeon, Morgott waits at the base of the Erdtree, acting as a last defense against those who seek to challenge the Golden Order. While difficult, players may find this boss encounter to be a bit more approachable, as many of Morgott’s moves have been recycled from a previous encounter. In fact, Morgott is the true name of Stormveil Castle’s introductory boss Margit, and, as demonstrated in a viral Reddit clip, he’s every bit as devious and frustrating to fight as he was in the game’s opening hours.
Elden Ring’s open-world design makes it a uniquely approachable From Software title, and many soulsborne newcomers reveled in the fact that they could take the game at their own pace rather than sacrificing dozens of lives in a battle of attrition waged against a seemingly-insurmountable boss. Margit, however, proved to be every bit the roadblock baddies such as the Bell Gargoyles or Iudex Gundyr were in previous games. His late-game second encounter, however, is even tougher, and, as proven by u/Zyphker, he’s still more than capable of punishing an unwise Flask of Crimson Tears sip and lunging in from offscreen to obliterate his overconfident opponents.

The most crucial difference between the fights against Margit and Margott stems from the fact that the latter encounter introduces arena-spanning AOE moves and a skewering, outrageously punishing grab attack that sees the player impaled upon Margott’s sword.
