Bandai Namco is doing its best job avoiding a tarnished reputation by releasing a brand-new Elden Ring 1.09 update. The new version 1.09 update makes some notable changes to the game and finally brings ray tracing to the current-gen versions of the game.
It’s not just ray tracing in this update, however. You’ll be pleased to learn that FromSoftware has applied some balance changes to various areas of the game and made a handful of bug fixes.
While the quality of the game wasn’t in question, it’s nice to know that the development team has continued working on the title to ensure it’s as good as possible for new and returning players.

The main new feature in the Elden Ring 1.09 update is ray tracing. Ray tracing has been added to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC versions of the game. You should find the new graphical option within Game Options on console and Graphics Options on PC.
It’s worth noting that switching on ray tracing may negatively affect frame rate and resolution. If you favour the best graphics, though, it might be the option for you. You’ll find the PC minimum and recommended specs for ray tracing on PC at the end of this page.
Aside from ray tracing, nothing new of note has been added to the game. Instead, though, FromSoftware has made a load of balance adjustments to all areas of the game along with quashing a handful of bugs.
