Elden Ring: How to Unlock Mounts
When players first start Elden Ring, they must figure out how to unlock mounts on their own. Players will not need a mount when they first begin the game, but quicker traversal methods are required later. Once players reach the vast outdoor landscape of Elden Ring, they will be faced with an extensive area to explore. Players will quickly realize they need a swifter traversal method in the Lands Between.
Players have a good chance of stumbling upon the mount by themselves, but many players may have trouble finding it. When players first emerge from the depths of the Cave of Knowledge, they will find themselves at the Stranded Graveyard. After emerging, players are led to the west toward a Site of Grace called «The First Step.» This should be the second Site of Grace players find after the Stranded Graveyard in this game, keeping Dark Souls' themes alive.

Players have the choice to travel in any direction at this point in Elden Ring, but it is important to find a mount first. Starting at the Site of Grace, «The First Step,» players should travel north until they reach the beginning of the road. The map indicates the road as a beige path leading toward the northeast. Players will find a broken-down structure near the beginning of the road. This broken-down structure contains the Site of Grace called the «Church of Elleh.» This should be the third Site of Grace players have found thus far. Once players activate their third Site of Grace, they will be greeted by a woman named Melina. This is not the first time players will meet Melina in the game, as they may have seen her in Elden Ring's third-best Twitch debut of all time.
