Bandai Namco has already tried their hand at summarizing Elden Ring's story in less than four minutes, and while it did a decent job in the trailer released a few months ahead of Elden Ring's release, it didn't quite capture every nuance that players have come to expect from the first open-world Souls game. Too many gods all fighting over this mysterious ring. And who are the Tarnished, anyway? The trailer seemed to produce more questions than answers.

First, there's a ring, but it breaks because the family was all fighting over it and grandma wanders off in disgust. Then we cut to the son, who was banished from his suburban home years ago for being a misbehaving little snot, but in several flashbacks, we learn he really wasn't that bad. He prayed to the Erdtree like a good boy, fought the Flying Dragon Agheel, and made a commotion when he started galloping around the house on the back of Torrent, his mighty steed.
When the son returns, he finds the family still fighting over the ring. He finally stops the arguments and then grandma reappears to say that everything will be right again.
Those who have already beaten Elden Ring will find pretty much all the major story beats in this ad, and if you haven't beaten Elden Ring, sorry for the allegorical spoilers.
