The title's backstory sees the vast Lands Between ruled by Queen Marika, with various demigod servants all loyal to her undisputed rule. However, the shattering of the Elden Ring threw the fantasy setting into chaos, as the power-hungry demigods began collecting the pieces in an attempt to take control of the land. This lore leads to the state of the world in Elden Ring, with each separate kingdom ruled by a different tyrannical boss. George R. R.
