The earliest chance to purchase Somber Smithing Stones (3) and (4) is after the player has reached northwest Liurnia of the Lakes. This is accessed after players either defeat Godrick the Graftedin Stormveil Castle, or make their way around the Castle via the cliffs: to do this, simply take a left past the rubble at the collapsed bridge north of Stormhill Shack.

Once in Liurnia, players will want to head directly north, through the marshes, past the Academy of Raya Lucaria andnorth-northwest to the Kingsrealm Ruins. The Ruins are northwest of Sorcerer’s Isle, west-southwest of Bellum Church, and south-southwest of Caria Manor.
At the ruins entrance, deal with any spellcasting Aristocrats and Wolves that block the path, and keep heading north until the Tarnished reaches a large stone archway. Approach it and hit it with a weapon to see an illusory wall vanish to reveal a Site of Grace called ‘The Road to the Manor.'
