Cut Elden Ring Godfrey Content Recontextualizes His Relationships with Marika and the Tarnished
As pointed out by Redditor M24Spirit, Godfrey’s initial cutscene will show his guidance of grace pointing toward the Tarnished player—meaning, in so many ways, that the player serves as a boss for him before he can reclaim the title of Elden Lord. Godfrey is the first Tarnished, with many following him into the Badlands (and cut Godfrey content suggests the player was one of them). His return obviously includes the return of his grace, per the official lore of Elden Ring.
