Elden Ring Devotee Plays For 1,000 Hours, Breaks The Game's Clock
A truly dedicated Elden Ring fan has played the game for more than 1,000 hours, which maxed out the game's clock. FromSoftware's open-world fantasy epic released back in February, and it took the gaming industry by storm thanks to its massive scale and robust RPG mechanics. Overwhelmingly positive Elden Ring reviews make the game an obvious contender for Game of the Year, but one fan has gone above and beyond to show their love for the soulslike adventure.
A successor to FromSoftware's previous games, specifically the Dark Souls trilogy, Elden Ring is a robust RPG that lets players create a character and explore the enormous Lands Between. The goal of the game is to slay demigods and ascend to the throne of Elden Lord, but there is a huge variety of content for players to encounter along the way. There are optional questlines, hidden areas and unrelenting side bosses to keep each Tarnished warrior busy for hundreds of hours. The game design of Elden Ring is unique compared to other open-world games due to its lack of map markers, which lets players immerse themselves in the Lands Between and discover content themselves.

A post from Reddit user JayzRebellion15 (via Game Rant) reveals that the loyal Elden Ring player has maxed out the game's clock by playing for more than 1,000 hours. The counter stops at 999 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds, though LayzRebellion15 has played for even longer than that. Fellow Redditors did the math, revealing that the devoted Tarnished has played for about 7.5 hours every day since Elden Ring launched in February.
