It's been seven years since fans of Saints Row have had a playable new entry in their hands. At last year's Gamescom, developer Volition officially revealed the next title to be a complete reboot of the franchise. Ahead of its August release, Volition has announced that Saints Row has officially gone gold.
Volition took to the game's official Twitter account to share the news. In a short media post, the studio tweets that the game has «gone gold» and is «locked and loaded» for the August 23 release date. The team also goes on to interact with fans and share the excitement while also providing a link to preorder and learn more about what the reboot is set to bring.

«Going gold» is a term many gamers should be familair with as it signifies that the final build of the game is complete. From this point, the development team will be sending out this version to be printed onto phsyical copies of the game as well as providing it to digital retailers for fans who opt for digital purhcases. With the Saints Row reboot receiving quite a few delays, this announcement secures that game is ready for its release next month.
With only a little over a month left, the coutndown officially begins before players can experience the world of Saint Ilesso. For players interested in getting a head start, Volition released the Boss Factory demo last month for PC (through the Epic Games Store), Xbox, and PlayStation. The Boss Factory lets players create their own custom character, which the series has been highly lauded for, and save their progress to then port over to the full release.
