The recent launch of the tiered PS Plus subscription service gives Xbox Game Pass a new competitor with a similar model, but even by Sony's own admittance, it'll take years for PS Plus to catch up to Game Pass. When it comes to gaming subscription services, after all, Game Pass has become iconic and it's almost expected nowadays for major titles to launch on it.
Of course, not all AAA third-party games will, and one would assume that PlayStation console exclusives wouldn't either. In a shocking move though, it seems Game Pass has been teasing the addition of a PlayStation console exclusive over the past few days, and it has now been confirmed.
Xbox Game Pass Confirms Another Day One for September 2022
On August 23, 505 Games and Kojima Productions will be bringing Death Stranding to PC Game Pass. Console-wise, the game is still only available on PS4 and PS5, but the PC version will then be accessible on PC Game Pass. Game Pass had been teasing this by changing its profile picture on Twitter, slowly making the background look more and more like Death Stranding, so this doesn't come as a surprise now, but still, a PlayStation exclusive on some form of Game Pass is quite the shock.
Windows 10/11 PC gamers will be able to access ultrawide mode, photo mode, a high frame rate, and crossover content for Death Stranding, as well as a few items that will unlock throughout the game's story: Chiral Gold/Omnireflect «Ludens Mask» Sunglasses, Gold and Silver Power Skeleton, Gold and Silver All-Terrain Skeleton, and Gold and Silver Armor Plate.
