Gamers have been using their imaginations to create awesome works revolving around the creatures, including one who has decided to begin a unique undertaking in renaming the Pokedex in its entirety, starting with the pocket monsters in Pokemon Red and Blue.

A Redditor known as Evilkenevil77 has started a project to give all Pokemon scientific names. The user has begun by posting the names of the first Generation and aims to do all the pocket monsters. Titles that were on the list included Dinorana Bulbus for Bulbasaur, Magnafelis Deus for Mew, and Mutatiovulpis Turpis for Eevee. This is a massive and intriguing undertaking that Evilkenevil77 is going after, and it will be interesting to see the names of future regions as they continue on.
Evilkenevil77 explained how the naming will work for future Generations. Baby Pokemon will have «Infans» at the end of their names, while all legendaries will have «Deus» at the ends of their titles. Those with regional variants will have «var.» along with a region in addition to their names to show there is more than one form of that Pokemon.
