With Elden Ring designed to give players more freedom than any other FromSoftware game, running away and coming back later is usually a valid option. However, it seems like it is a bit harder to flee in certain Elden Ring areas, something that was shown clearly in a recent clip.
The footage in question shows a player running away from one of the Leyndell Knights inElden Ring’s royal capital. One of the most memorable locations in the entire game, players can explore various levels of the city, visit a version of the Roundtable Hold, and access the well-hidden Subterranean Shunning Grounds. At one point when traversing the city, gamers will need to ascend a massive dragon corpse, climbing the beast’s body to continue making progress within Leyndell.

While there are a handful of threats to deal with when exploring Leyndell, the Leyndell Knights are among the most challenging. Alongside some large golden armor that can make them a bit tough to bring down, they can wield some incredibly dangerous lightning attacks against the player. Clearly having enough of fighting these enemies, Reddit user radiodaemon66 fled from a Leyndell Knight, likely having doubts that it would be able to follow. Sure enough, though, this Knight refused to give up pursuit.
While an Elden Ring enemy following players closely when they attempt to run is normally nothing out of the ordinary, this clip stood out due to the location of the chase. Instead of chasing the player through city streets or up a staircase, the Leyndell Knight managed to ascend the body of the dragon.
