2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise, and NetherRealm has been celebrating by releasing behind-the-scenes videos of the games. Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon recently took to Twitter to share a behind-the-scenes video of the crew filming fan favorite character Raiden, and it prompted some reactions from fans.

Something else that may be playing a factor into why NetherRealm is not quite ready to show off its next project is the studio's uncertain future. Reports indicate that Warner Bros. is looking to sell its game studios, and NetherRealm would be part of that equation. It's possible that this is impacting NetherRealm's next project.
