Dying Light has been out for a while now, which means developer Techland has had plenty of time to iron out all the bugs that the game launched with. If you want to try replicating the bug, mogley1992 confirmed they were using the Volkan combat assault rifle paired with Pocket 7's. If you don't already have a Pocket 7's from a past event, you'll need to find someone with the blueprints to make you one.
Dying Light 2 is still set to receive its second major DLC sometime before the end of 2023. It'll be a "story-driven" campaign in a new location that's "unlike anything
