Dying Light Dev Unveils New Fantasy RPG, Includes Witcher, Horizon Vets

only just released in February and the original is still getting somewhat regular updates over seven years later, but that doesn’t mean that developer Techland isn’t busy making other games, too. The studio spoke more about the open-world fantasy role-playing game it is developing alongside talent that has worked on games like,,, and more.

The game in question has no official name, release window, or platforms. And while the existence of the studio developing an open-world fantasy RPG may seem new, Lead Designer Tymon Smektała spoke about such a game in a recent interview with YouTuber OniZombies. Smektała even said that it is the Warsaw team that’s developing the RPG. Regardless, Techland only released one piece of concept art of the new IP and said that it is beefing up for this RPG, which is presumably still quite early on. Techland CEO Paweł Marchewka spoke how the team wanted to try something new after making two games.

“We’re very happy with what we have accomplished with the franchise so far,” said Marchewka. “Moreover, our journey with has only just begun as we plan to support this game for at least five years, with its scope and size matching, if not exceeding, what we have provided our community with during post-launch support for its predecessor. At the same time, our ambition is to introduce a brand new IP that is vastly different from what we have been doing for the past several years. We want to create a fully next-gen experience. A new fantasy epic set in a sprawling open world, fueled by the skills and experience we have gained as a team over the years, infused with new ideas, passion, and creativity.
