The live-service model has become one of the most popular forms of delivering content in the modern age, and it's evolved quite a bit since its popularization in 2017 with titles like Fortnite. Originally intended to keep players around for longer than ever before, when done right the live-service model can increase the longevity of a game exponentially, which is perfect for online multiplayer games. However, in recent years, even big-budget single-player titles have started adopting the live-service model in one way or another. Dying Light 2 is one such game.
Since Dying Light 2's launch back in February, the game has been updated multiple times, each one adding a variety of new content like brand new missions, new gear, new Infected types, and even entire game modes. Not every update has been major, but each one brings even more value to an already great game, keeping players around for longer. The latest step in Techland's five-year Dying Light 2 plan, Update 1.5 is set to add a brand-new Agent, along with some new bounties and missions.

The last update Dying Light 2 received was the 1.4 Update, which added the long-requested photo mode, along with some extensive tweaks, changes, and additions regarding the way missions work. This update introduced a «Chapter Agent» called Harper. This character acts as the hub for all the new missions and bounties in the game. Completing these tasks for Harper will allow the player to progress through the new ranking system, which in turn rewards them with the new currencies, which unlock new cosmetic items and gear.
