Dying Light 2 Stay Human marks the beginning of an incredibly full February gaming season, and the reviews for the parkour-fueled zombie action are rolling in. Take a look at what some leading outlets, including us here at TheGamer, think about the long-awaited sequel to 2015's Dying Light.
In our review, Eric Switzer wrote that Dying Light 2 could end up as a "great improvement over the original," but, sadly, the sequel had too much ambition that Techland failed to deliver properly. "It's trying to do too much and missing the mark almost entirely across the board. Dying Light 2 is a game with a troubled development, and unfortunately, it shows."

Other critics seem to agree that the sequel is overall a decent game (74 on OpenCritic), although it could be so much more. Here are some of the scores that we have so far — yep, no tens for now:
Dying Light 2's undeniable advantage is its improved traversal parkour system, which shines even brighter thanks to the vertically expanded world. Some say the game offers "the most fun you can have moving through a video game world," and its simple but effective combat complements the experience nicely.
What's not so exciting, though, is its "uninteresting characters and repetitive side content" that make the journey feel messy and uneven. Also, it's hard to ignore the unfulfilled promise of its choice and consequence system, making the sequel "worth exploring, but not the diamond it should be."
