Dragonflight Season Two is now live, with the latest new raid, new Mythic+ dungeon rotation, and the beginning of a new PvP season.
It’s time for a refresh, and that begins with Embers of Neltharion’s brand new raid, Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. This new raid features nine new bosses and is sure to answer some questions for those who wondered about Neltharion’s mysterious experiments and the creation of the dracthyr. Neltharion’s power and breakthroughs are up for grabs, so it’s time to stop those nine bosses from having it.
The raid releases from the start with cross-faction access. Hall of Fame consideration also applies if your guild has at least 16 out of 20 raiders from the same guild. Cross-realm Mythic will have to wait a while, with a release date for that still unannounced.
There are some new Season achievements: Dragonflight Season 2 Master and Dragonflight Season 2 Hero, each with its own bonuses.
The new world boss–or, more accurately, bosses–also begins appearing today. Vakan and Gholna are djaradin elders who each master a different element. Vakan masters shadowflame, while Gholna wields lava. You have to defeat these bosses, well they try to one up each other so this is a different sort of fight that you can try to turn to your advantage.
The new Mythic+ rotation features four Dragonflight dungeons and four from prior expansions. The previous dungeons include Neltharion’s Lair, from Legion, and Freehold, from Battle for Azeroth.
Finally, the new PvP season is the first with some new gearing and upgrade changes, but in Blizzard’s decision to release those to access on the PTS or over the last week., there was a chance to begin to adjust.
