Every fan of Dragon Ball knows that Goku isn’t the best father or husband as he is way more interested in fighting than he is with spending time with his family, which may explain the disconnect between him and his son, Goten. One Dragon Ball storyline proves Goten is the exact opposite of his father in the funniest possible way.
Goten is the youngest son of Goku and Chi-Chi who made his first appearance in Dragon Ball chapter 424 by Akira Toriyama. Throughout his time in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super, Goten is depicted as a young child who is best friends with Vegeta and Bulma’s son, Trunks and isn’t afraid to dive head-first into battle. One of the most ambitious fights Goten ever finds himself in is when he and Trunks fuse to become Gotenks, who decides to take on the God of Destruction, Lord Beerus, despite the fact that Beerus is a literal god who is way more powerful than Goten or Trunks could ever hope to be. While this example makes it seem as though Goten and Goku actually have a lot in common in terms of jumping into a fight regardless of their chances of victory, the adult version of Goten proves he couldn’t be more different from his father.
