InDragon Age, Orlais is the biggest nation in Thedas and is known for serving as the seat for the Chantry's Divine. It has been both mentioned and highly explored in the games, books, and even the series' movie. The nation was founded by humans, particularly those of the Ciriane tribe. Then, through her machinations, she had the younger brother killed as well after he took over Orlais and married her. She then ruled for 42 years, becoming known as the «Mother of Orlais» and the inventor of the Grand Game.
