Social media platforms have been flooded with streams of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, almost a week ahead of its release.
The streams, which VGC won’t link to, but can confirm their legitimacy, have appeared on Twitch, Kick, TikTok, and X over the weekend.
This is following early physical copies of the game being found at retail.
While some of these streams are being taken down, largely on Twitch, VGC can confirm that one TikTok stream of the game ran for several hours, uninterrupted, seemingly avoiding any detection by titling the stream, “not the new Zelda.”
While other notable releases this year have been streamed early, such as Star Wars Outlaws, that was a case of one player receiving a physical copy early and streaming it from one account.
The widespread nature of how many separate accounts are currently streaming the game points to the piracy issue that the Switch has struggled with for some time.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be released on September 26, alongside a new Zelda edition Nintendo Switch Lite console.
“While exploring the Still World Zelda will find a mysterious sword allowing her to transform into a powerful Swordfighter form for a short time and battle enemies head-on,” Nintendo‘s description of the game reads.
“With its mighty power, she can forge ahead when her path is blocked, strike down enemies on her own, and battle alongside echoes. The sword’s gauge can be replenished by collecting energy found in the Still World.”
