Techies is a hero in Dota 2, known for its explosive tendencies, both for itself and its allies. In the past, Techies was primarily known for their ability to lay down minefields and instantly kill any enemy heroes that were unfortunate enough to step on it, but fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on perspective), this playstyle was entirely reworked in Dota 2's 7.31 gameplay patch. Techies still have a large array of powerful explosives but are no longer the most hated hero in the game they once were, particularly by newer players who didn't know how to properly deal with Techies due to Dota 2's poor tutorial.
Techies have a few skills up their sleeves. Its first ability launches a bomb cart that latches onto any heroes in the area and explodes soon after, regardless of whether it latched onto anything. Its second ability electrifies itself, causing any attackers to become disarmed and exploding into a disarming discharge at the end of the duration. Its third ability is a suicidal long-distance jump that deals massive damage to Techies itself and any enemies in the area, as well as silencing enemies for a long duration. Finally, its ultimate ability is the one it's known for: Techies lays down a proximity mine that explodes when an enemy approaches it, dealing massive damage. These mines are invisible but become visible when enemies are close enough for them to explode and can be destroyed if enemies are fast enough.
