One modder has turned the Doom Slayer into a murderous Uber Eats-like driver, creating a comical outline of a possible future racing-like delivery mod for the classic first-person shooter, DOOM. The talented head behind the project is no other than notable modder Edy Pagaza who previously created three other unique total conversion mods for the classic FPS title. Most recently, the modder created DOOM Shinobi which turned DOOM II into a hack 'n' slash game similar to Ninja Gaiden that features a third-person camera, wall running, several different unique powers, and the ability to chop demons into bits with a brutal arsenal of different melee weapons.
The modding scene surrounding DOOM is considered to be one of the oldest and ever-expanding in gaming. Starting in the mid-'90s, players started creating custom WADs for the first two classic DOOM titles, and soon after its community quickly became recognized for creating the video game modding phenomenon. Almost three decades later, hundreds of mods continue to be released for DOOM and DOOM II using the flexible DOOM engine, from custom maps to complete unrecognizable total conversion mods, fans and modders continue the legacy of the series that helped revolutionize the first-person shooter genre.
