Warning: contains spoilers for Task Force Z #6!
Fans of the Red Hood will be disappointed with the latest twist in the mystery of Bane’s clone. Throughout Task Force Z, Red Hood has led a group of deceased villains reanimated with a special substance on dangerous missions—and Bane is one of them. However, in Task Force Z #6, on sale now in print and digital, there may be more to zombie Bane than readers originally thought and serve as a major disappointment to Red Hood fans.
Last year, Bane was seemingly killed in an attack on Arkham Asylum, in an event that came to be known as “A-Day.” Months later, Bane and a handful of villains were brought back to life by a special substance derived from the Lazarus Pits. These formerly deceased villians were then pressed into service on a special government task force headed by the Red Hood called Task Force Z. Red Hood took a special interest in zombie Bane, as the villain had killed Alfred Pennyworth during the “City of Bane” storyline; Red Hood made sure to send Bane on the most punishing, dangerous missions, as a form of retribution for killing Alfred. It was satisfying for fans to see Bane get his comeuppance on more than one occasion, but now new revelations cast doubt on zombie’s Bane identity, as well as Red Hood’s crusade for justice. Task Force Z #6 is written by Matthew Rosenberg, illustrated by Jack Herbert, colored by Adriano Lucas and lettered by Rob Leigh.
