Michael Waldron doesn't think that the Illuminati team exists in other MCU universes aside from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' Earth-838. After helping Peter Parker (Tom Holland) in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) was once again tasked with aiding a younger hero in America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez). Their escape from Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), who was hunting her down for her powers, led them to various realities, including Earth-838, where the Illuminati was assembled.
As in Marvel Comics, the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was tasked to make difficult decisions for the greater good. Assembled by Earth-838's Doctor Strange, the team is composed of Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Maria Rambeau's (Lashana Lynch) Captain Marvel, Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Mister Fantastic (John Krasinski), and Professor X (Patrick Stewart). As revealed in the Sam Raimi-directed film, the Illuminati played a significant role in defeating Thanos in their universe. Unfortunately, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also marked the end of their Illuminati tenure as Scarlet Witch easily murdered all of them in the movie.

Now that the Illuminati as a team has already been established in the MCU, there are questions regarding whether or not they exist in other universes.
