Diablo Immortal’s final update of the year, Shattered Sanctuary, is coming on Friday, December 13th. The time to face Diablo down or let Sanctuary fall is nearly upon us.
There's a new zone that the Lord Of Terror himself created using the Worldstone Shard, World’s Crown. Shattered Sanctuary is the new main quest chapter, and you'll need to have completed the Crucible of Justice quest and hold El'druin, the Sword of Justice. Once you've done that you'll have to head over to the north into the new zone, which is the largest to date in the game.
Your confrontation with Diablo will come, but first, face down hordes of minions and loyalists, from Terror Demons, Shardborne, to cultists, and The Maddened, those who were first to set eyes on Diablo himself and were forever changed. Ultimately, you’ll get to confront Diablo in a battle that will determine the fate of Sanctuary. No pressure.
This is a packed update full of challenges. Challenge Dungeons are harder versions of existing dungeons. When you enter, the dungeon might seem familiar, but you'll be assigned one or two random modifiers, things like increased monster speed or bonus globe drops. When you complete your first one of these dungeons each week, you'll get a guaranteed Set item in your loot chest and better odds on later runs.
Helliquary Bosses also go to a new level–or rather three new Inferno difficulties–with the arrival of Dreadbirth Helliquary Bosses. There are three of these new bosses, and victories unlock the new difficulties. The update announcement introduces us to all of them, from Vogmarik the Tormentor, who enjoys collecting trophies from his victims’ bodies, to Mulgaist the Molten, who exists under a lake of lava, to Deosbrae, Sovereign Shade, whose children are abominations of darkness that keep Sanctuary stocked up with darkness.
Three new Legendary Gems are on the way. Five-star Golden Firmament boosts evasion and damages with wind. Two-star Mercy’s Harvest summons a reaper when you damage
