Not only has Blizzard Entertainment confirmed a summer launch date for Diablo Immortal on Android and iOS, but the company also announced plans to release the title in open beta on PC. Activision unveiled Diablo Immortal to poor fan reception during BlizzCon 2018. While franchise faithful patiently awaited news of a fourth mainline entry, Blizzard had devoted time and resources to a mobile-only adventure. Diablo IV finally took center stage at BlizzCon 2019, yet skepticism about the Android and iOS game never fully dissipated.
Blizzard Entertainment is producing Diablo Immortal in conjunction with NetEase, the team known for developing the likes of King of Hunter andMarvel Super War. Despite initial reservations about the project, the response from those who've played in-progress builds indicates Immortal offers a faithful adaptation of the core Diablo experience. But since a touch screen still doesn't seem like the ideal way to play the role-playing title, the latest news out of Blizzard should please many a fan.
