Diablo III Season 28 brings a variety of new mechanics, updates, and balance changes to the game. While many of these updates were experienced on the Public Test Realm, the actual season has yet to drop. The current season, Season 27, has been the longest-running season to date, as well. However, Blizzard follows a pattern with its Diablo III seasons, so we can guess a date for Diablo III Season 28 start.
Unfortunately, Blizzard has yet to announce an official start date for Season 28. That being said, experts predict Season 28 will go live sometime during the last week of February. This means the most likely start date is Friday, February 24. This is only a prediction determined by taking into account PTR announcements and the previous seasons’ runtimes.

As mentioned above, Blizzard has an established pattern of testing new seasons on the PTR for four to five weeks before release. Its official PTR blog includes information such as:
If Season 28 began testing on January 31, it makes sense for Blizzard to release the Season between February 24 and 28. February 28 is exactly four weeks from the PTR start date.
Additionally, the runtimes of Season 27, Season 28, and previous seasons are worth noting. Season 27 has been the longest-running season at nearly six months. Diablo IV releases on June 6, so it’s safe to assume Season 28 is the last season of Diablo III. This makes a lot of sense, given the power of the new season mechanics and the balance changes the season brings. Season 28 looks to be a proper sendoff to the long-running action RPG.
Moreover, these potential start dates are only predictions, but we’ll update you with the official start date when Blizzard announces it.
