Bungie has announced new details on Destiny 2 Season 17, confirming its official title and a solar 3.0 rework ahead of its release today, May 24. With Destiny'sSeason of the Risen now wrapped up, players are encouraged to claim all of their in-game rewards and prepare for the reset, but aside from this, the developer has remained tight-lipped on what fans can expect from the new content.
It has been about three months since Season of the Risen debuted in Destiny 2, and with it came many more challenges for Guardians to take on. These new challenges included opportunities for more difficult heroic campaigns, which offered even better player rewards. With the ever-popular Witch Queen expansion, Season of the Risen is regarded as one of the better seasons the game has seen so far, and it is unsurprising that players were concerned over the lack of information on Season 17. Though 60 new Destiny weapons were released in Season 16,fans still hope for more upgrades and better weapons to defeat the next major boss.

The official Bungie website, along with a new Destiny 2 trailer, have finally outlined some of what players can expect from Destiny 2 Season 17, just hours before the content goes live. Players will be unable to play Destiny 2 during Season 17's scheduled maintenance, which will take place today, May 24 from 9 AM PDT (16:00 UTC) to 11 AM PDT (18:00 UTC). While the maintenance is scheduled for two full hours, the servers are only scheduled to be down for a total of 15 minutes from 9:45 AM PDT to 10 AM PDT.
