Season of the Haunted launched a month ago, and it followed the beginning of Year 5 with Season of the Risen and The Witch Queen, which was the first time thatDestiny 2 players were allowed to use the new crafting system to make the guns they wanted, the way they wanted. The selection of craftable weapons was still limited by Bungie in a way that only seasonal guns and some of those introduced with the newest expansion became fully customizable from a selection of traits and perks, albeit not without controversies. There were issues already at launch, namely with Deepsight weapons not dropping frequently and leading to intense grinding sessions for players to eventually find a handful of patterns weeks into the expansion.
This was addressed in a patch and Deepsight weapons became much more accessible, especially considering that some of them took just a few red border drops to fully unlock the corresponding patterns, which could require anywhere between two and five Deepsight drops. However, Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted was released with twelve new craftable weapons in a mix of six seasonal guns and six returning Opulent weapons, and all of their patterns require five Deepsight weapons to access crafting options. There are some issues, that Bungie should try to avoid going into Season 18 when it comes to crafting, and Season of the Haunted should be where the lessons come from.
