Bungie has given players no shortage of materials and currencies to keep track of inside of Destiny 2, whether it be planetary materials or versatile Legendary Shards. The release of Beyond Light gave players a reprieve from keeping track of all these by ditching materials from the sunset planets alongside many vendor tokens. It appears Bungie isn't going to slow down, either, as gunsmith materials may be on the chopping block when The Witch Queen releases in February.
The Witch Queen is the latest major expansion for Destiny 2, pitting guardians against the Hive god of cunning, Savathun. Players will be tasked with venturing into Savathun's throne world to combat her, discover how she came into possession of the light, and take it back. However, standing in players' way is Savathun's Lucent Brood, an army of light-imbued Hive wielding powers akin to those guardians have.

With the expansion's release now only a little over a month out, Bungie is outlining the changes coming as part of The Witch Queen in its This Week at Bungie posts. Senior community manager DMG teased what will be covered in the next TWaB post, which will include changes to gunsmith materials going forward. He did not go into detail, saving this information for the TWaB, but tells players they may want to visit Banshee-44 and turn them all in before The Witch Queen's release.
DMG also teased changes coming to blue drops, the new power floors, and when the next raid will go live.
