Bungie reveals season names and new details for Destiny 2 seasons 20 and 21 ahead of the Lightfall expansion's launch later this month. These new seasons will bring quality-of-life improvements and exciting new content for Destiny 2 players while advancing the game's narrative after completing the Lightfall main campaign.
Destiny 2: Lightfall brings players to Neomuna on Neptune to combat the Witness' forces of Darkness, which includes the dark Cabal army led by Calus. Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters gain a new Strand darkness subclass that weaves the universe's fabric of reality into powerful energy. The release of the Lightfall expansion this month also marks the beginning of Destiny 2 season 20.
Destiny 2 Player Has Idea For Which Raid Should Be Reprised Next
Bungie published an extensive blog post for Destiny 2's Lightfall expansion, revealing new details about seasons 20 and 21 and their respective names. Destiny 2's Season of Defiance launches alongside the Lightfall expansion on February 28 featuring new weapons, gear, and seasonal activities. Major changes will be made in Destiny 2 including the removal of Umbral Engrams and Umbral Energies in Season of Defiance. Bungie confirms the use of glimmer and seasonal engrams for engram focusing going forward, so players have fewer currencies and engram drops to worry about. These changes will be also present in season 21, which is now called Season of the Deep.
Destiny 2 players will receive singular keys throughout their playtime to use on chests found at the end of seasonal activities in Season of Defiance and Season of the Deep. These keys may drop from seasonal activities, so players may solely focus on Season of Defiance and Season of the Deep activities if desired.
